Ice Storm...the day after in its beauty.

We are here....

We have had an ice storm here and are out of power but we have a generator. We aren't complaining since we have heat, water and limited lights. I just got Internet back today so now I feel like I can connect with the world! I won't post any pictures now but you can see them on Brent and Johanna's blog. We haven't had school since last Fri. and there won't be any all this week. I will post and write more later.

Wood Stove...

We are enjoying our new wood stove. It really keeps the house nice and warm!!! (just ask Andrea:) ) Maybe, we can go most of the winter without turning on the heat.

Apple picking on our day off from school. We went on a small hayride to the apple field, found our way through a corn maze, and ended our day with a carmal apple!!!!

Pumpkin picking

We did our annual pumpkin picking for our town's Pumpkin Festival. The Kokkos grow and sale the pumpkins for the festival and we get to help pick!!!!

OK!!! So I have been a wall!!!

Posts will be coming soon! I just haven't sat down to download my pictures onto the computer. I have people asking for updates. I should and do have more time to post these days but I just don't take the time. I am enjoying my quiet days and I seem to keep myself busy with ???? I am always committing myself to something since I have time. Maybe, some day I will learn to say no but in all truth I enjoy doing whatever.

I have posted some new soup recipes on Ciao Down. I LOVE the Taco Soup and Veg. Soup is very good, also. And for the Crab Soup it is gourmet tasting! I got that recipe from Teresa a few years ago. It does take time to make it but you will enjoy the results.

I love this recipe!!! I got it from a Taste of Home cookbook in 2000. I usually make it for a potluck and it is always well liked. The recipe is on Ciao Down.
