Pumpkin Picking....

Our town has an annual Pumpkin Festival and we went to help pick the pumpkins with the Kokko family.

The other day on the way to Ava's school I stopped to get coffee at DD. She asked me, "why do you get coffee". I replied, "Ava, I need something to get me going, I have to go shopping and get a lot of stuff done". Well, when Ellie got home from school she said to Ellie, "Ellie, do you know why mom drinks coffee, it's so that she can go shopping!"

I just don't know what.....

I've done this week!!!!! If you ask me about anything this week, I just don't know the answer. I have it all to blame on Paint. We decided to rip up the carpet in the bedrooms and put down wood floors so, since we are doing that why not paint the girls room. WELL, I made a vow a few years ago that I would NEVER EVER paint again. I think I forgot that little vow and am ready to re-new the vow. Actually, I have somewhat enjoyed the project but the fine tuning of the trim is a little tricky for me. I have now given up and Brad thinks that he can get the trim painted. We will see. I am anxious to see the finished product!!! I let the girls pick the colors for their rooms and Ava was able to get a comforter since, she was still sleeping in the nursery. Ellie got a new comforter for her last birthday. Anyway, I do complain but it is alot of fun and I look forward to posting the pictures. Someday!!!:)

And what have we done this week?
I went to the paint store EVERY day....Run and get stuff for the rooms.....paint and paint...laundry...cook.....groceries....clean the house.....dog to the vet.....and i did get in Ladies night out and tennis...so I can't complain....It is just that the joints are aching!!!

I loved this comment from Ava when I picked her up from school this week...

she said "My teacher didn't need to waste a clothes pin with putting my name on it because she isn't going to need to move it this year!"
They have a red light system and if you get in trouble then your clothes pin gets moved up; once you have been spoken to three times than you are in time out. Well, I hope she is right!:)

Kindergarten!!!!

Ava started school yesterday. She goes to a small school that has preschool and kindergarten. This is her third year at the school and she is so excited to be the "Big Kindergartner". Some of her cousins are there this year with her.

Labor Day Weekend.....Rehoboth, Delaware

We enjoyed the Labor Day weekend in Delaware at the beach with five other families. A fun time was had by all.

It was Brad's birthday last week so the girls and I went to his work and decorated his bike and waited for a phone call!!! The girls and I planned this a month ago and they kept the secret. It was a surprise to him.

Fall...

Fall is fast approaching here in New Hampshire. I noticed some red leaves today on the trees!!! I actually look forward to the fall season. It is my favorite time of year here in New England. It is a great time for visitors! (hint) This last week the girls and I went out to Altamont conv. for the whole time and Brad joined us on the weekend. The Howes were generous to have us stay with them. Always good times together. I will have to post pictures later. That is the happening here. We are enjoying our last week of summer vacation before school starts next Wednesday. Take Care----

We love our dogs! Missy is growing and is now four pounds. She was two pounds when we got her. Tucket and Missy are now the best of friends. I really didn't know if that would ever happen. It keeps our house lively.

Nantucket

Brad and I just celebrated our tenth year anniversary. We had honeymooned in Nantucket so we went back for our tenth. We enjoyed a long weekend relaxing and shopping. The Boston Pops with Natalie Cole were there performing on the beach. We were able to get tickets so that was neat to see. We stayed at a really neat inn called The Veranda House. Really quaint and simple. They would serve hot cookies and tea in the afternoon. A really neat touch and of course breakfast. We enjoyed our time and always look forward to going to Nantucket.

Four out of five.....

Tim and Sarah were also at Milford convention. Soooo... we had four out of five us kids at conv. We will have to plan better next time so that we all five are there.
